Children’s Gardening
Get your children out of the house and into the garden with the help of the great selection of childrens tools. There are forks and spades available in a wide range of colours to get your little one in the mood for some helpful gardening as well as some smart looking gloves, and aprons on a “buggy” theme.
Where space allows give your children their own plot, it doesn’t have to be very big, but do make sure the site is fertile and fairly sunny. Children will be discouraged if they don’t get quick results. If you don’t have the space perhaps they could have some containers or vegetable planters on the patio?
Inspire children to garden by stimulating their senses with beautifully scented blooms, brightly coloured flowers and easy to grow plants. These can be from seed such as; sunflowers, cosmos, poppies and marigolds which are ideal, or in plant form such as pansies, primroses and other bedding plants.

Attract their attention with bamboos and plants that make noise such as poppy heads, rattling nigela or rustling grasses. Also the curry plant, chocolate cosmos or cherry pie heliotrope for their distinctive smell.
Edible plants are also great for sparking their interest, try radish, courgettes, runner beans and swiss chard, but pick plants which give a quick return.
