Rudbeckia laciniata ‘Herbstonne’

There is an amazing range of Rudbeckia’s but this one we have selected to grow for you in our own nurseries. It is an amazing variety which grows to 5-6′ (150-180cm) tall, with masses of beautiful yellow flowers mid-summer until well into the autumn. Prefers a sunny site in any soil.

 Helenium ‘Kanaria’

Another lovely mid-late season flowering perennial which again we grow ourselves. This one flowers repeatedly through to the frosts and has a height of 4′ (120cm). Plant in a sunny site in any soil.

Verbena bonariensis

A very popular plant which grows to approximately 4′ (120cm) so is ideal for the middle or back of the border.  It begins flowering in mid-late June and continues to end September. Masses of dark mauve sprays of flowers are produced on long wiry stems which gives it a very fine, delicate appearance. It grows up easily between shrubs and other herbaceous plants to provide a delightful cottage garden feel to the border. It will often come up again the following year and will also often seed itself to provide more plantlets for other locations. prefers a sunny position in any soil.  

Japanese Anemone’s

These are beautiful herbaceous plants just coming into their flowering time. There are several forms now, some grow quite tall up to 4′ (120cm) and com in a range of colours, from the deepest pink, through lighter shades to pure white. There is even a double form called ‘Party Dress’. Recently we received the first of a new, more dwarfer series which only grow to 2″ (60cm). The new varieties are called Anemone ‘Lady Diana’ and Anemone ‘Lady Susan’.

The Summerhill Fun Weekend!

We would like to inform you of a brand new event taking place at our Garden Centre on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th November from 10am – 5pm.

It is an event for all the family as there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Just a few things in store for you:

Raffle, Craft Stalls, Kids Amusements, Kids Rides, Reindeer Display, Bric a Brac Stall, Roasted Chestnuts, Face Painting and Demonstrations*.

Yes our amazing CHRISTMAS SHOP is now open and it is the most amazing display ever!

We have increased our range of outdoor lighting dramatically so not only can you find beautiful items for indoors but outdoors can be just as beautiful with our help and expertise. We have several new L.E.D items which give an illuminated ‘Countdown to Christmas’, big numbers of battery lights in a range of colours and an impressive new range of solar items, some of which are novelty and some are stylish to help create a beautiful look to your home.

With a new range of Christmas trees and our usual individually hand-produced decorated wreaths, garlands and floral arrangements, all created in store by our own florists and designers, we have created a Christmas for your home which we think you will agree, simply can’t be beaten.

As our regular customers will know, if you want to see the display at its best and have the best possible selection please shop early as many of the best items sell out very early and we don’t want you to be disappointed!

GARDEN FURNITURE & BBQ’s

It is the time of year when we move our Garden Furniture into a large marquee and give our customers amazing bargains to clear the stock.

Make sure you get here early as the bargains are genuine and when the stock is gone there is no more. So make sure you don’t miss out!

SPRING FLOWERING BULBS

These are now in stock. We have a lovely range of the new season bulbs and now is an ideal time to plant as the rain moistens the soil, and the soil is still warm enough to initiate some root growth.

We have several new varieties for you to try and all the compost, fertilizer and tools required for you to complete the job. If you need help or advice with any of these items, the staff in this department are Nick, Gina and Karen, who will be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

AUTUMN & WINTER BEDDING

We now have our new seasons range of autumn/winter pansies and viola’s. This amazing range of plants will flower all season long if the dead flowers are regularly removed and often flower into year 2!

We also have ‘Miracle’ Cyclamen for the garden, Wallfowers, Garden Chrysanthemums, Evergreen Hebe’s, winter and summer flowering Heathers and a wonderful range of shrubs, climbers and conifers to create lovely plantings for this time of year either in tubs or in the border.

Our new arrival of pots is all but complete now, it is an amazing selection with a carefully chosen price range to suit all pockets.

We have brought together a bigger range of pots than ever this year. From the brightly coloured to the very traditional shapes and tones. All pots and statues can be loaded for you if required.

The new seasons plants have been arriving over the last few weeks, mainly sourced from local growers and also from our own nursery.

The plant area is now full of stock, both showing winter interest and colour. We also have varieties which will come into their own throughout the rest of the season to give year round interest to your garden or patio.

We have carefully put together a range of products which we feel a genuine garden centre should stock so that you can buy everything you need at the right price to make your garden and home everything you want them to be.

There is also a strong sense of pride in being able to offer a quality product for sale that has been home produced.
