Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays
We have a great opportunity to work as a Trolley Runner as part of our Patio and Yard team at Summerhill Garden Centre. These departments stock large pots, gravel, rockery stones, compost, bird baths, statues & stepping stones.

You might be the person we are looking for!
Your main responsibility at the weekends will be working in our car park keeping on top of the customer trolleys. This will involve collecting them from the car park and returning them to the retail areas.
Other jobs include:
- serving customers
- pulling trollies, lifting, carrying, loading and unloading stock across all departments
- loading customer vehicles and Summerhill delivery vehicles with Garden Centre products
- reading and writing loading tickets, receipts and delivery notes
- ensuring the displays of stock are always kept topped up, well-presented and tidy
- taking part in general housekeeping activities including cleaning, sweeping and ground maintenance
- helping out in other departments as and when required.
This is a physically demanding job;
- you will need be able to pull a minimum of 4 large customer trolleys at a time, uphill, the length of the Summerhill car park, continually throughout the day.
You will be outside 90% of the time so need to be happy working in all weather conditions.
You must also be self-motivated. Your supervisor will make sure you know what you’re doing and will check in with you regularly.
Contracted hours are:
8.45am – 5pm on Saturdays & Bank Holidays and 9.45am – 4pm on Sundays.
Earlier starts may be required as we get busy!
Holiday Restriction Times: April, May and June, Bank Holidays, Sale Day (27th December).
We will issue you with a uniform, safety footwear and PPE that you’ll be expected to wear at all times.
